Iqbal Abdullah
CEO of Mirakuru Europa OÜ
I am an engineer and entrepreneur based in Tokyo, originally from Malaysia. I have been a remote worker since 2007 and an Estonian e-resident since 2018, which means my desk moves around more than most people would consider reasonable. Telephony is where most of my professional life has happened. In 2007 I founded Xoxzo Inc., a remote-first telephony SaaS that started with SMS-to-email and grew into SIP and WebRTC products bridging the public phone network and the internet. We ran Xoxzo for fourteen years before it was acquired by Accrete Inc. in 2021. I write a lot of Python and Django, spend more time than I should inside FreeSWITCH, and hold several patents covering authentication and telephony systems.
I now run Kafkai Giken and Mirakuru Europa, where I build small, opinionated software that I want to exist.
PuchiDen is the latest of those. It exists because international calling on the open web got harder after Skype was retired, not easier, and I happened to know how to fix that.
