Credit cards have been the only way to pay for PuchiDen since we launched, and I have never been entirely comfortable with that.

We use Stripe to process credit card payments and it is not that Stripe is bad at what it does. They are excellent. The problem is the shape of the information that leaks through. Stripe does not give us your card number — that stays on their servers — but it does give us your name, your billing address, and enough metadata to build a profile. We do not want profiles. We do not want to know who you are. That is the whole point of a service you can sign up for with nothing but an email.

So starting today, you can pay for PuchiDen with cryptocurrency. We have integrated NOWPayments, a crypto payment gateway that supports more than 70+ digital currencies, and the flow is simple: you top up your balance, pick your coin, send the payment from your wallet, and the credit hits your account once the transaction confirms.

What You Can Pay With

NOWPayments handles the heavy lifting, which means the list of supported currencies is long. The ones people actually ask about are all there:

  • Bitcoin (BTC) — the obvious one, still the most widely held
  • Ethereum (ETH) — fast confirmations, low fees on Layer 2
  • Litecoin (LTC) — if you want something that moves quickly without thinking about it
  • Tether (USDT) — for the people who want to avoid volatility entirely
  • Monero (XMR) — the closest thing to genuine privacy in the list, for those who want it

And dozens more. Stablecoins, memecoins, privacy coins, Layer 1s, Layer 2s: if you have a wallet, there is a decent chance NOWPayments knows how to talk to it.

What "Near-Anonymity" Actually Means

I used the word "near-anonymity" deliberately, and I want to be honest about where the line sits. Crypto does not make you invisible.

Most cryptocurrencies — Bitcoin and Ethereum included — are pseudonymous, not anonymous. Every transaction is recorded on a public blockchain that anyone can read. The blockchain does not show your name, but it shows every address you have ever sent from or received to, and how much moved between them. With enough data points, a determined analyst can connect those addresses to a real identity. Chain analysis firms do exactly this for a living, and they are surprisingly good at it.

The anonymity breaks entirely the moment you buy your coins through a centralised exchange that runs KYC. If you purchased your Bitcoin on Coinbase, that exchange knows your name, your address, and the wallet you withdrew to. From there, tracing your subsequent payments is a matter of following the trail on the blockchain.

Privacy coins like Monero use ring signatures and stealth addresses to obscure the link between sender and receiver, which is why they are the closest thing to genuine anonymity in the list. But even then, "genuine anonymity" depends on how you acquired the coins, what wallet you use, and whether you have ever connected that wallet to anything that knows your name.

The honest summary is this: crypto payments give you more privacy than a credit card, because we do not get your name or your billing address. But they do not give you total invisibility. If someone with resources and time wants to trace the transaction, the data is sitting on a public ledger.

And oh, one good thing about a public ledger is that as a business we can also see if a payment actually was successful.

Why We Did It

PuchiDen is built around a simple idea: your phone number and calls is your business, not ours. We do not ask for a password and your real name and we delete call records after sixty days. Adding a payment method that respects the same principle was the logical next step.

Credit cards are still there if you want them. Some people prefer the familiarity, and that is fine. But if you have been holding off because you did not want your name in our billing system, that obstacle is gone.

You can try it now from the top-up page. Pick "Crypto" as your payment method, choose your coin, and send. The gateway handles the exchange rate and the confirmation tracking. We only see that a payment arrived.

That is exactly how we want it.
